latest LOCOG vacancies

Hi Everyone

just been sent the list by JCP - some interesting ones.  Reference number 7734930.  By now you should all know how to access the site.  If not let me know

Kerry

interim positions in the financial sector

One of our special team has been in touch with some fabulous news - he has secured an interim position as a senior manager for HSBC.  He has told me he will gladly introduce any of you who are seeking senior financial roles to the Consultany firm that recruited him.  He says they are quietly successful.  Which to me sounds like an oxymoron when you hear all the noise some of these firms like to make.  If interested can you contact me and I will forward your interest on to David Davies.

LOCOG vacancy list

Just been sent the list that was sent out by JCP on 19th June - there are a couple of rather nice looking jobs on the vacancy list.  To access this information you can register to receive the information.  Google LOCOG  and follow the steps.

Business Link

Hi Everyone

i have had a letter from Business Link about an event that may be of interest to some of you - they are hosting a series of events in Hampshire including the 7th July at Basingstoke Country Hotel [ timings 4 - 8pm]  concerning winning public sector contracts - linked to the 2012 games.  The event is free and there is even a meal! [kerry obviously got her priorities - ]  Many of you are ‘consultants’ and this will be of interest.  To find out more information please call 0845 600 9006 www.businesslinkhampshire.co.uk/events

The Never Ending Search

I started earning money again at the beginning of March after almost a year out of work.   I realised, looking back, that all of the jobs I’ve had were through somebody I knew, an ex-colleague or an introduction by a friend.   I had never got a job via an agency, a newspaper advert or a web site.   During that terrifying year I somehow knew that that’s how I would get working again even though I persisted in firing off applications, checking web sites, posting CVs and cold calling agencies.   I suppose that, although pointless in a way, those activities kept me occupied and help me “make cause” to find work again.

I’m hopeless at networking but my experiences tell me that is what we all need to do, bearing in mind Frank Bennett’s earlier post on how the job market has changed.   Getting through “black periods” is a difficult art and requires persistence so adopt the principle “Hon Nin Myo” - every day a fresh start.

Possible jobs news (Basingstoke)

Possibly good news for Basingstoke folk - I’ve discovered that Sun Life Financial of Canada is to acquire the UK operations of Lincoln Financial for £195m, increasing its UK assets under management by 60% to more than GBP 10bn. Might mean an expansion of jobs in Basingstoke - could be worth getting in touch with them? (Sun Life Financial, Basing View, Basingstoke, RG21 4DZ;Tel: 0870 1611111;http://www.sunlifeofcanada.co.uk)

Also, De La Rue has won a £400m government contract to supply the new biometric passports over the next 10 years, so it could be worth getting in touch with them too (De La Rue, Jays Close, Viables, Basingstoke RG22 4BS; Tel 01256 605000; http://www.delarue.com )

This is why it is called a network!

I have been asked by a JCP Manager if any of ‘our’ members were Dentists or Physiotherapists [am sure i have spelt that wrong!] - moving on……

If you know of any who are seeking employment can you tell them to contact me directly at Open Door so that I can forward their interest to the manager concerned
